Objectives:
The NVQ Level 3 Award in Environmental Management is aimed at managers and supervisors employed in organizations who are considering or working towards an environmental management system. The Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) is the single framework for regulated qualifications, the regulatory body for this qualification is the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). This qualification is accredited by the RQF.
Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification. Centers should carry out an initial assessment of candidate skills and knowledge to identify any gaps and help plan the assessment.
- The learner must be 16 years or older at the beginning of the course.
- If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency.
- Candidates should have some experience working in a role related to Environmental Management.

Assessment:
Candidates must demonstrate the level of knowledge and competence described in the unit. Assessment is the process of measuring a candidate’s knowledge and understanding against the standards set in the qualification. Each candidate is required to produce evidence which demonstrates their achievement of all of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit.
Evidence can include:
– assignments/projects/reports
– worksheets
– portfolio of evidence
– record of oral and/or written questioning
NVQ Qualification Duration:
The ProQual Level 3 NVQ Award in Environmental Management course duration is 30 hours (20 GLH).
Internal Quality Assurance
An internal quality assurance verifier confirms that assessment decisions made in centers are made by competent and qualified assessors, that they are the result of sound and fair assessment practice, and that they are recorded accurately and appropriately.
Progression
Completing the course will provide learners with a comprehensive understanding of environmental management and sustainability, and help them to identify and mitigate the environmental impacts of their own activities and those of their organization. It will also prepare learners for further study or work in the environmental sector.
